I am a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist and registered nurse. I provide individual, couple and family therapy. The diversity in my personal and professional experience provides a solid background for my approach to therapy which encompasses knowledge, compassion, and experience. I provide therapy that is safe, informative, insightful, reflective, and experiential. Having experience as a process consultant, registered nurse, health educator, and therapist has influenced my philosophy and therapeutic approach. As a wife and mother, I have gained and continue to gain the most valuable life experiences. My professional training is grounded in Holistic Health and Family Systems—both of which enhance my understanding of individuals, their physical and mental health, and their interconnectedness with others and their environment.
My Background
Prior to completing my PhD in Nursing, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Health Science. I worked in healthcare for 14 years in various capacities before returning to school for my Masters of Science in Couple and Family Therapy. I have experience working with individuals and groups of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds on a variety of physical and mental health issues. Some of which include anxiety, depression, maternal well being, parenting, work-life balance, couple and family dynamics, stress management, and chronic disease management. My research on trauma informed care focuses on the impact of trauma to both patients and providers.
